Romanowski, A. (2016). Adobe After Effects CC 2017 splash screen artwork. [Digital Artwork].

My OLD pattern

I looked at the pattern I made again and realised that it look nothing now I intended it to. If I put that pattern in the environment it would make it look tacky. I when back to my inspiration, analysed and broke down the artwork.  I noticed that pattern started from the centre and worked its way out. By starting off with a simple shape such as a triangle or a diamond, the artist had enough room and flexibility to incorporate as many shapes into the pattern.

In terms of colour scheme, the I noticed that Romanowski used only 4 colours. This was a good approach to not making the image overpowering. Although for my project this pattern is going to be the only thing in the scene that has colour, apart from the model. I decided to use the Arnold Render Ambient occlusion material which gave the objects a glowing effect. This game me more room to experiment with different colour combinations.

When making the pattern is used simple polygon shapes and arranged them on the left side then used the mirror tool to copy everything over, this was a more efficient way to making the pattern and ensuring that everything was symmetrical. Screenshots of the pattern process is below.

FINAL PATTERN

Overall this pattern is much better than the one I made before. It will bring light to the scene and emit a positive environment.
