After discussing with my teacher about my idea, I was not comfortable with the way it was going. therefore I changed it so that instead of the guy dying, it will be a dog.
The new backstory narrative is that a boy and a girl used to play at the local skatepark where they found a stray dog, therefore, they took him in as their own. Now they are all grown up and unfortunately, an accident occurred resulting in the dog needing to be put down. The boy and girl are reminiscing about their favourite memories together.
During the animation, the dialogue between the girl and boy will be misleading being the audience will think its either a breakup or a goodbye speech. Only at the end will they find out that they were talking about the dog.
Progress
I was put in contact with a scriptwriter from Coventry University and we are currently in the process of developing the dialogue between the girl and boy.
