The image on the right is from my mood board. I really liked this image because it was simple yet well illustrated. The image looks like it was designed for children. I found this useful because my target audience is children also. This image helped me to redesign my character suit with the mindset that less is more. I needed to make the character simple so that children will be able to recognise it.

From my first draft, I didn’t like how my character looked. She looked a bit chubby and short, which isn’t what I wanted. I did some research on how cartoon astronaut suits look. On the left is a mood board of the images I looked at to help generate ideas on how I was going to redesign my characters suit.

Below are the before and after images of my character.

By making my character taller I will have more flexibility when it comes to animation her in After Effects. I know that she is yet to be improved, in terms of her suit and face.

For her suit, I need to add a little more detail to her joints. EG. elbows and knees. This is so her suit would look realistic.

Also I am not happy with how her face looks, her eyes and nose are fine, it’s her mouth. I need to experiment more to see what suits her best.
