I did some research on how to make an interactive story. I found 5 tips from lbbonline.com that were very helpful.
All this information was from here.

These 3 questions from the article will help me to plan my interactive story better.
1. How will the viewer see the story unfold differently, now that it’s interactive? What consequences does this have for understanding the story I want to tell?
The viewer will see the story from the protagonist point of view rather than from a narration. The viewer will be able to connect and have empathy for the protagonist. So when the antagonist is revealed hopefully the viewer will be ask shocked/surprised as the protagonist was.
2. Are your stories’ characters able to communicate with your viewer?
I intend for the viewer to feel like the protagonist is talking to them through the story and engaging with them by asking the viewer questions as to what the protagonist’s next move shall be.
3. Is the viewer playing someone inside the story world? Or are they an invisible, all-seeing observer?
I’m giving the viewer control of the story by being an observer that has the power to chose what the protagonist does next in the story.
